The final stretch of the ski season 2017 - 2018 in Spain is approaching, since the only station that was still open closes this Sunday, May 6. The Sierra Nevada ski resort will offer a free skiing day (previous payment of € 5 for mandatory passenger insurance) and a popular paellada in the Plaza de Andalucía in Pradollano.
Also, Sunday's day will be special and unique. The start of this day will be at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and all lifts will be operational , except for the Parador chairlift that will only work from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. More than 65 km of slopes , with all open areas and up to 3 m of snow at medium and high levels, as spring snow.
Finally, the Granada station will close a bright season that began on November 25, 2017 and ends 163 days later, on May 6, 2018.
The Sierra Nevada National and Natural Park, the same that embraces the ski resort from which it takes its name, has been included in the IUCN 'Green List', which certifies that there can be coexistence between mountain and slopes.
